What controls our actions?

1. Us, choice, impulses

2. Fate-chance-circumstances, causality

3. God-predestination-guidance

4. Other

5. Nothing

Please pick any one or portion of one and explain your reasonings, give examples and personal experience if you can.

Then...

What SHOULD govern our actions (noting the differnce in "govern" and "control";)? (principles, impulses, God, nothing, other)

Please reply with what you honestly think. I'm searching for some answers, and not finding ones that quite make sense.
